Zach’s Residential Tree Services
Providing Exceptional Tree Services Since 2015
I started making money in the tree business at the age of 10 splitting firewood for people in my hometown of McKenzie Bridge, OR, which is located on the McKenzie River. My parents were both tree planters and my father also worked on thinning projects for the forest service; I learned a lot from both of them regarding planting and thinning from a young age. In high school I started working for the forest service and learned proper pruning techniques with both handsaws and pole saws.
In 2012, my wife and I had our first child and we moved to Newberg, OR to be closer to family. At this time, I started working at a saw shop while doing brush cutting, pruning, and sawmilling on the side, which I became very passionate about. This led to me becoming a licensed contractor and starting my own business in February 2015.
I wanted to be able to provide on-site portable sawmilling and light tree work while being insured and legal to bid work on residential properties. Shortly after starting my business, I began getting inquiries and requests for large tree removals and pruning that I was not comfortable with at the time. My answer to this was to start working with others to learn as much as possible, studying, asking questions, and practicing. The learning and experience that I gained is what turned my business into what it is today. We comfortably and safely perform most aspects of tree work; from large crane assisted removals to dead wooding large oaks and 150’ firs without spurs. We can turn that standing dead tree into valuable building material using our fully hydraulic portable bandsaw mill.
It has been a great adventure so far, and I cannot thank my wife and two daughters, customers, and subcontractors enough for helping me along the way.
